Hunt to find partner municipalities

The hunt is now on to find partner municipalities and their buildings to take part in the project. In France, Prioriterre is working with Conseil Departemental of Haute-Savoie who, already in the throes of implementing an internal energy action plan saw the benefit of introducing a behavioural change element to their work, something that they had not at that point considered.
The UK had an early supporter of the project in the form of Ceredigion Council in Wales who were also keen to implement a behavioural change programme to complement the work they had already done on assessing the energy usage of their buildings. Finding another municipality, however, that has several buildings to take part has been more of a challenge.
Hungary on the other hand, came across quite a different problem in that they had anticipated each participating municipality including 4-5 buildings in the project. Unfortunately however, as the result of previous EU funding programmes, a number of the buildings have either had recent or planned energy efficiency investments which have sadly meant they are not eligible to take part in save@work. For the Hungarian partner, GreenDependent, this now means finding 10-13 municipalities to take part rather than the 4-5 they had originally envisaged!
Other partners such as Germany, Austria and Latvia have also identified their participating municipalities and many of them have already identified the participating buildings. The next step now is to engage the staff, tell them about the project, show them how to get involved and help them to save@work.
